Le Prix BMW –Paris Photo 2008, a été décerné à l’artiste Yao Lu : “New landscape part I – Ancient Spring Time Fey”.
Réservé aux photographes représentés par les galeries participant à Paris Photo, le Prix BMW – Paris Photo célèbre sa cinquième édition. Lancé en 2004 pour soutenir la création contemporaine, il est devenu une véritable référence internationale, contribuant par une dotation financière versée à l’artiste primé à la réalisation d’un projet, tout en offrant aux visiteurs de Paris Photo un aperçu des tendances de la photographie contemporaine internationale présentées au coeur même du Salon, au sein d’une exposition réunissant les oeuvres des candidats finalistes du Prix.
Sur le thème « Never Stand Still » (« toujours en mouvement, jamais immobile ») en relation avec la campagne de communication de nouvelle BMW Série 7, un jury international prestigieux a décerné jeudi 13 novembre une mention spéciale à trois artistes, Andrew Bush, J.H. Engström et Nobuhiro Fukui, et le Prix BMW-Paris Photo 2008, d’une dotation de 12 000 euros, à l’artiste chinois Yao Lu, représenté par 798 Photo Gallery, Beijing.

A panel of prestigious international experts will select the winner of this €12,000 prize from among the living artists represented by the Paris Photo 2008 participating galleries. The theme for 2008 is “Never Stand Still”. The short-listed works will be on view during Paris Photo and the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2008.2008 short-listed artists :
